I’m not a white florals girl, but I have to admit it’s beautiful
Very smooth and delicate blend, no note is overpowering or annoying
I get the narcissus, jasmine, a bit of magnolia and something that is smoothing them down, maybe that’s rice
Feels appropriate for a wedding
Very feminine and delicate, like a white dress
Very pretty

Got a sample and I’m kind of glad I didn’t end up liking this as much as I thought I would, because the price point is insane. I don’t really sense any citrus in this at all, and the rice note is very mild, which is what I was most excited for. Unfortunately I think the white florals overpower everything else. Even the iris takes a back seat until it’s almost completely faded from the skin. Wear has become very faint after ~5 hours, I can just barely smell what’s left when I lift my wrist up to my nose. Overall not that impressed for the price point. I was hoping for something way more balanced and unique. This is a pretty straightforward powdery floral.

Kaareneparker

I keep getting cilantro???? It’s nice but very very green. Maybe it will soften to the white floral but don’t buy if you don’t love a strong green note that lasts a good hour.

My fiance, now my husband of 15 yrs, bought this for me to wear at our wedding. We did shop it together so it wasn't a surprise. It might be sentimental but it's the most gorgeous fragrance I own (out of >100) and I receive more compliments on this scent then all others. It's clean, light citrus, floral and uniquely delicate at the same time yet lasts very long for the notes. Please don't buy! I want to keep it for myself! 😉

I’m obsessed w rice in perfume but this is a 2d version of myths woman to me

Nobody else thinks Armafs Club de Nuit Imperiale is in the same ball park as LIW ?

AEons327

My mom gifted me Love in White and I want to like it, but just can't. It smells like an old lady--stuffy, soapy, and like generic laundry powder. It reminds me of octogenarian church ladies. It might smell really nice on someone with the right body chemistry for it, but that person will be one in a million because this fragrance strikes me as a tricky one.

I will say it's elegant in its own way, though. I think it's classy, but prim.

Time for a new review. My old one from 2019 is below. I don’t like to delete old reviews because taste evolves over the years, and I am now re-visiting a lot of my stash.

This was a blind buy about 6 years ago. Year after year, I try this fragrance and kick myself for wasting my money on it. I always try it in warm weather because the notes seem springy. In fact I gave it another shot just a couple of months ago when it was warm outside, and once again I dumped it into a box in my basement. It always smells like green, sour flowers.

In the winter I (oddly?) gravitate towards crisp, clean, greener perfumes—cold ones with lime and salty vetiver, or aquatics. Cold Chanels. I was in my basement looking for these types when Love in White again caught my eye. I spritzed it onto the back of my hand asking myself why I even bother anymore? It was the very first time I tried it on when I was really cold.

This time it smelled like an icy, aquatic floral. It had a magical and mysterious quality that made me think of low, white fog, when snow is on the ground. Makes me think of Silent Night--all is calm. I could smell an iris/rice powder note that I swear I have tried for 6 years to detect and never could. Magnolia is still the strongest note, lending its soft floral sweetness. The perfume is also a lot muskier than I ever realized. I still do not detect any orange.

I don’t see it as an Oriental Floral as they mention above. It’s a fresh, green but soft, floral.

I finally understand that for this perfume to work for me, I need to wear it in COLD WEATHER. I’m so glad Love in White now has a place in my heart! I will be wearing it any time it snows.

daesungvip22

very powdery but somehow i still really like it reminds me of mom

Kizzyb93

My mother in law bought me this last Christmas , due to us having completely different taste and fragrance, I never opened it, and it got put in a storage box for six months until my teen daughter found it and asked if I didn’t want it, could she have it. I did tell her “yeah of course, but it’ll probably smell like toilet cleaner.” She ran off to her room with a big jackpot look on her face.
Later on in the evening came down wearing it. Of course, but to my surprise actually didn’t smell bad ABSOLUTELY not to my taste at all , AND DEFINITELY not something I would expect a teenage girl to like, however, she absolutely adores it.
From what I’ve smelt on her, it’s very green and quite a powdery floral. I would say it’s quite elegant and light, and mature !
I can’t really speak on longevity, but I will say through the evening as she kept talking by. I did get small whiffs of it up close .
I’d say this fragrance would probably do fantastically in spring time

rosewoodoud555

Soft citrus, orange peel, a bit dusty, old school (like most Creed frags). Very green and aromatic. A slight fruitiness and crispness. The dry down is quite powdery. The iris gives it an old school makeup-y vibe, like a MAC powder compact. It kinda smells like mom when I was younger. Mature, safe, and boring which is not for me

Nikkicousinp

Ladies, if you're looking for a light, yet seductive, scent, look no further than Love in White! In the opening, I get this burst of orange peel; then, after a few seconds, the Iris note takes the front seat and becomes the main player! What I also like about this fragrance is that it's got beast-mode sillage and projection! No word of a lie, it permeates the entire room, which can come across as a bit of a delightful surprise because it's supposed to be a light and airy scent! All in all, if you're looking for something versatile that's iconic and chic, look no further than Love in White. What's more, it's a massive compliment-getter, especially from men!

Deontaer

This fragrance smells like plastic to me. I get no fruit, no floral, no sweetness. It reminds me of opening the box of a new baby doll…and I think that’s why I like the scent but it’s not worth the price tag. If you can find it at a discount, great, but definitely not worth full price.

Sophia97

When I first sprayed the fragrance I didn't like it but once it gets dry down, It smells like you are in garden of fresh oranges and flowers. I love it. Freshly grated orange zest is what I smell the most. But I think is that it's too expensive and doesn't last long for worth it's price.

Fenissa

Very sadly does not suit my skin chemistry whatsoever.
Smells great from the bottle. Turns into bug spray on my skin.
The bottle is gorgeous and its performance is long-lasting.
For those of you on whom this works its magic, I'm jealous.
I will stick to being a Love in Black girl.

kperfume

I fully realize that this perfume might smell good to others when I wear it. But I like to like my perfumes too. And I can't get over the middle notes of milk-like sweet rice with the rest of the tired end-of-season florals. Glad I gave it a chance, but it's not for me. Lasts forever too :-).

marchat

Classy, classy, classy!

AlexandraRoseD

Good lasting power, over 10h.
Magnolia & rice dominant, elegant and clean. Suitable for office.

I'm not a fan of creamy scents without citrus to balance it, but that's just my personal taste.

cranky137

On my skin and to my nose, this is so close to Kenzo L'eau par kenzo from the 90s. Honestly, you get the same vibe. I wouldn't pay so much money for Creed when you can get the "same" scent for much less.

Anyway, a nice and feminine light magnolia-centered scent with watery aspects (almost like water lily). Greta for summer!

Ground hound

Agree- it is polarizing and controversial. But not boring.
Maybe because people have a different sense of smell and some do not find what others find in it.

Maybe coz it`s Not a bubbly young floral citrus scent- but a floral scent with unexpected twists- which also seem to feel different for everyone.

On the opening it`s floral but with some heavy greenery, like sappy lily stalks, then a bitter enough citrus comes out. Then here it goes- strange powder, strange rice, strange rose- it all is too unexpected and not necessarily logical or complementing if you know what I mean?
Kinda reminds me of the Sunset flowers by Montale situation- not the smell but the twist- people hate it coz it starts off a summery happy scent and ends with a smoked note/chamomile, and this sudden dive into the unknown is often not appreciated :)

So, try before you buy- do not look at the pyramid, it does not explain much of what is going on.

Tasia

Ordered few samples of Creed perfumes just to see and test something new, and Love in white was one that stood out for me for sure. Very elegant, sexy, light (but not fresh), feels like you cannot get enough of this smell. Now I’m an owner of Love in white full bottle (which is quite elegant too).
It is love or hate, and it’s definitely Love from me!

SophiaViolette

First I want to say, I am once again disappointed by the projection, sillage and longevity of Creed. Barely get anything on skin after 2-3 hours, and on paper it sits close for hours, but doesn’t leave a trail.

Overall, white “transparent” florals, the rice here is interesting, I kept sniffing for more and more on my skin.
The notes are more grounded with the rice in between and gives this perfume a lactonic smell once dried-down (on skin only).
Or maybe smells like saké? But on paper smells like a citrusy cleaning product.

I gave this perfume many tries, and noticed that worn in the cold It was easier to catch the floral notes, and smelled less lactonic. Unfortunately that didn’t last, and I can’t justify the price tag for this either.

I was excited to try this bc Blk Royalty loves this. This scent doesnt turn your stomach but I wont be taking this home. It has that soap smelling white floral. It is a tad bit unique upon the opening. You dont smell the creaminess of the vanilla until about 4 hours after spraying. On the right person this is probably quite lovely. It sure was interesting on paper. It just didnt work on my body. Dont blind buy this.

JoyousOne

So this is Michelle Obama's favorite perfume! I smelled it on paper. I will graduate to skin next.

angelicaoung

My brother got this for me as a part of an eau de toilette set for Chinese new year and initially I wasn’t a fan. I felt like it was very flat and powdery for what I had hoped would be a more lush white floral from the name. However, it was persistent and subtle and gradually grew on me. This is the perfume I reach for when I want to smell not of anything but vaguely expensive. It lasts and lasts on my skin and my clothes and remains pleasing to the end. An odd duck that became an endearing low-key favorite.

I read a lot of negative comments about this so i’m having second thoughts whether to buy this perfume or not. My mom even said it smells like a rag so i can’t get it out of my head. I’m worried i’ll really smell like a rag if i wear this but after buying another decant, i’m really thinking of getting this as a bday present for myself. Idk, nvm those who’ll smell me. What’s important is i love this scent.☺️❤️

East River Pearl

An interesting scent. My impression of this fragrance really changed between the first and second time I tried it. The first time I was hit with a strong, creamy magnolia scent more than anything, with some rose shining through. The second time I got a lot more of the amber and a very strong, realistic orange peel scent. There's a greenness that fades in the dry down and the rice scent starts to come through more and overall it's much less floral than I'd originally thought, with the jasmine coming through more than anything else.

annasarahr121

I finally got the chance to smell Creed Love in White at Nordstrom today. I think it's absolutely beautiful -- just clean laundry musk with a greenness that reminded me a teeny bit of cucumber, but other reviewers think smells like cilantro, a very polarizing herb! -- plus a strong and distinctive rice flower scent. I'm familiar with rice flower because there's a ton of it in one of my favorite "clean" scents, Alfred Sung Shi. Love in White reminds me quite a bit of that fantastic cheapie, though they are by NO means identical (Shi also has lots of lotus and birch). In looking at the "Reminds Me of..." section, to me, at least, Love in White smells NOTHING like Shiro, which I finally tracked down and blind-bought based on the description; Shiro has a very yucky, bitter note that Love in White most definitely does NOT have. To me, Love in White smells like how a cool drink or eye compress at a high-end spa might smell -- and I know I keep repeating this but it's just lovely, refreshing, herbal, clean. I do still need to try this on my skin to see how it wears, but assuming that's good, too, if I ever come across an affordable partial bottle of the stuff, I'll get it.

boombambam

@Lsquared

yes, i smell it too.
top note is quite nice, then it develop to cilantro.. Both me and my wife hate it because of the cilantro like scent..

canabena

Another fragrance my mom gifted me, not a fan, very overwhelmingly powdery and floral, very much for a more mature woman. Not something I would reach for, I also think the price is ridiculous for something that smells like a grandma.

Suthalinee

This fragrance remind me off Tommy Hilfiger True star when it dries down. It bring back memories from the past when I was 21 years old.

Tulpan

Very nice white floral scent, which lasts for a long time. Inoffensive - good for daytime use and the office. Pricewise it is very steep for something that's not that memorable. It also seemed to make my eyes itch a bit whenever I sprayed on my neck/chest, so happy I only got the sample to use up.

Lsquared

I know it's not listed as a note, but I swear all I smell is cilantro

IrisPrima

This is one of the most stunning floral scents I ever encountered. I have two bottles of an amazing batch and I must admit, it's the most beautiful white flowers I've ever smelled. Jasmine and Magnolia are sublimely blending into comforting Rice notes. The opening is mesmerizing with sparkling Orange Peel vibes. Absolutely pure and enchanting. The perfect Bridal Scent!

Enrium

To reiterate what several reviewers below have said already, Love In White is inoffensive yet polarising. With a fresh blast of citrus followed by light, soapy florals, it is the jarring rice note that makes this one hard to appreciate. Clean and subtle, it would be interchangeable with a thousand other scents except for the soggy, overcooked rice note.

LIW opens with a fresh orange note that is shortly followed by soapy white florals. It veers dangerously close to cleaning product territory here. An unexpected coriander note adds a hint of peppery spice, while narcissus adds some polleny grassiness. There is a slight powdery edge to the florals as they progress, led by iris and some light rose. So far, so fine, except for the soggy rice that persists in the background.

The rice subsides a little as it dries down, rounded out by soft woody notes. A sweet amber accord comes to the fore here. It fades fast - sillage is weak and longevity is fairly fleeting on my skin.

I don't hate this, but it is imperfect and discordant - I don't think the rice note works. The performance is also lacking for the price tag. Still, an effort at creativity. 2/5.

TeachOlfactoryArt

I know this fragrance is polarizing and many people love it.

This is just my experience: When I sprayed on my tester/sample, I almost vomited. The drydown fared no better.

It smells to me like wet moldy rice that’s been reheated too many times, on top of which some dying, rotting, nondescript flowers have been added.

LizzieBiscuits

As aczwy says below I don't know how such an inoffensive scent can be so polarizing. It's nice enough if you like soapy smells and the longevity is good but there's no projection and it's just......meh.

Weirdly the main thing I can smell is fresh coriander, a pleasant enough aroma but I can't imagine a situation when I would choose to smell like a naan bread.

Nikkicousinp

An elegant scent!

aczwy

expensive soap suds, and lots of it. extremely squeaky clean, i can't imagine this being very polarizing because it's so non-offensive (i say as someone who generally dislikes florals)

Veelovesparfumes

My husband said it smells like cleaning supplies….
But I love it anyway, It’s one of a kind, whatever they say lol

esmerelda99

I must admit, it wasn't love at first spritz. The opening notes of orange peel--bitter and slightly pungent, really put me off and I was glad that I'd only sprung for a sample. But then...magic happened once it warmed to my skin. For me, the lead heart notes are magnolia and jasmine, which are favorites of mine. The scent dissipates slowly and the sillage is present--soft, and not overpowering. It's wonderful in warmer weather; I don't think it would work as well for me in the winter months. I broke down and bought a full bottle after experiencing the magic of this unique fragrance.

KerriZ

Interesting reviews...either love or hate this fragrance. I am sorry to say I'm one of the haters. I received as a gift from a boyfriend almost 10 years ago and I still have 3/4 of the bottle. Which is a beautiful unusual opaque White. I will keep it for my perfume bottle collection.

I agree it smells expensive.. and is. But it is not an expensive I like. I think its the combo of powder and vanilla. My two least favorite perfume notes. And because I dont like it I havent tried any of the other Creed fragrances. They do look elegant but afraid to purchase. Especially on a blind buy.

hardcandy74

A very full, soft scent, smells expensive. The orange peel lifts the other notes and it all comes together in a creamy sweetness that isn't overpowering. I have a tester but will consider buying full size, it's such a high quality daytime fragrance.

Sassiearnaud92

The very best soap fragrance ever you can buy.
Smell fresh, sexy and clean
Amazing for spring and summer
Good longevity and sillage

nickinicole

Fresh floral, but mature. I understand why do many first ladies allegedly wore this scent, but iris just doesn't play well with my body chemistry. I'll stick with Creed's Spring Flower with is a more flirty fresh floral.

Appletreebeach

This a great date night fragrance! When you want to stand out but be subtle this is my go to. All I smell is white flowers and citrus. Others can smell you but you wont give them a headache.

you_love_gabrielle

This is a beautiful light floral citrus scent. You definitely get the orange peel in the opening, but once it dries it dries down to a sweet slightly powdery floral. This is a perfect summer scent. This is definitely a like for me but not a love and for the price, I expect a love. So I’ll pass on this one as there are plenty similar vibe perfumes out there for a better price.

Jessica_Jones

Love in White... My first serious relationship after dating around for two years.
With most perfumes, even - or especially - if they are really great, I find that I purchase them, admire them, and put them away, for when I'm in the right mood for them. With this one, I quickly realized it's the one I want to wear every day, for every occasion, and don't feel like I really need anything else. It's that good, that comfortable, and that special. Just makes me feel good.

There's a lot of different scents that I'm detecting here. The opening is bitter and spicy with the orange peel coming through. Then I'm detecting different notes - sometimes magnolia, sometimes iris, sometimes ambergris, sometimes cucumber. But to me it's not a floral scent, but rather almost like a fantasy scent. Like a milk-iris tea with aloe if that was ever a thing. It's not really similar to anything else that I've smelt before, although the oil version of it smells a lot like Aventus For Her in the drydown.

To me it's in the smells-like-body-lotion genre. So I would say it is probably not for big events.

This is mostly a magnolia perfume and I wasn't expecting it at all when I sprayed it at the store. I had always assumed with the name Love in White that it would be a tuberose/jasmine concoction and while jasmine is in this perfume, it's barely noticeable as a note honestly. It's starts off with a crisp orange note and then dries down to a great magnolia note (it's a note that I also recognize from Frederic Malle's Eau de Magnolia, they both have a quality that's so creamy and soft), but there's this interesting starch to this as well that's so clean smelling - I assume that this is the rice note and I really like it in this! It dries down to a musky and sweet sandalwood over time, but the longevity is impressive to me for such a light feeling scent. This is such a classy and pretty perfume, honestly something I could see a bride wearing for a spring or summer wedding. I haven't been amazed by most Creeds I've smelled so far, but I really like this one!

mrsoutlaw

Love in White is a classy lady in a crisp dress on a summer afternoon. The main notes that I get are magnolia and citrus. The citrus is not overwhelming. It manages to give the magnolia a slight nudge to the forefront of the other notes. Love in White will carry you from jeans and a crisp button down shirt to a summer garden tea party. There is nothing juvenile about this fragrance and it also steers clear of being matronly. I cannot find anything bad to say about this lovely fragrance.

fformoso88

This is really pretty. I just got it and wore it today for the first time. It’s a gorgeous white floral fragrance with ambergris in it so you do get the salty/ fresh dry down which I like as well. It’s not a love for me. My favorite Creed is still love in black but this is going to be great for spring I feel like. Very fresh clean white florals. It lasts all day and then some on me as with all Creed fragrances. It’s just a really lovely scent! I do recommend it!

Update: I gave this away to my mom. After wearing it for a while something in it was bothering me… I’m not sure what scent but it turned very sharp on my skin almost like molding cheese. And while I love cheese I definitely didn’t want to smell like it. It smells great on my mom though and she loves it. I wish it worked with my chemistry but unfortunately it doesn’t. Maybe for a more mature crowd not for me.

alphala

This is a scrubber, absolutely atrocious!

Pachida

I had never tried any Creed scents before, but I heard this was Michelle Obama's signature scent and had to try it. It's amazing! Soft florals and vibrant greeness perfectly balanced into an gorgeous fragrance. It's ethereal yet substantial. Like a flighty woodland nymph who shows unexpected aplomb. Amazing for spring and summer, but have you tried it in winter?! It conjures images of winter fae and frost encrusted gardens in bloom. Pure magic.

I think this fragrance would be really boring without the rice note, but something about that twist brings it into the realm of mystic elusiveness and gives it its captivating quality. Love, love, love Love in White!

Jcee

the white color of this bottle is very fitting because this smells like white deodorant, but fancy, light & airy, fresh outta the shower, clean, baby powdery in a good way. the scent causes a vision in my head of me getting into a bed with clean white bedding/white sheets on a summer day with a breeze flowing into the room thru an open window on the beach

Tincel

This fragrance immediately gave me the creeps. The first thing I said to the saleslady after trying it: "This smells like fish". That quickly dissipated into something equally as repelling, that is, the most lifeless, inorganic white bouquet I have ever smelled. It smelled fake, impenetrable, empty. It seemed as if it sought to exude sophistication but without an ounce of depth or elegance. Creepy, creepy, creepy.

marinaw90

Elegant, classic, safe fragrance for daily wear. Desperate to add this to my collection.

AK2

I don’t understand the hate and the negative references over this beautiful, feminine and classy fragrance. This smells like an expensive Chanel body cream. It is velvety and translucent and the bottle suits it perfectly. When I smell this i imagine a very beautiful, carefree woman in a white flowy dress. Might not be for everyone but if you love white flowers i definitely recommend sampling it.

TeachOlfactoryArt

Used soap left on the floor of a public bathroom in a Tokyo train station. Vile.

KymIndigo

I've never really thought of white florals as scents I like to write home about, but Love In White is an exception. Bright orange peel is noticed immediately on first spray. There's something in the opening that smells almost like a smokiness, like it's about to become smoky, but doesn't actually go there. I think this is the narcissus flower. It settles on a beautifully light and natural pink rose with narcissus and a whisper of jasmine, the orange peel still there keeping it light. There's an overall coziness and softness about this scent that is just so luxurious and divine. The dry down is a warm and comforting white floral with a touch of woodiness underneath. Longevity is about half a day as a skin scent with a very mild scent aura. Spraying onto clothing would make for better longevity and projection.

This could very much be a signature scent for those who have the budget for it. It's an enchanting and light white floral that could be worn just about anywhere, but it would especially shine in the Spring. It would make for a stunning Spring wedding scent! Definitely test before buying a bottle due to the high end pricing and also the orange peel note, which may not be for everyone.

lawgrl

Just purchased a full bottle. Frankly, I am surprised by the negative reviews, but scent is highly personal. I get no bug spray or cheap soap.

It is very floral of course and initially I almost passed as my current go-to scents are warm and spicy. And my initial whif of this on a fragrance card was unremarkable (and similarly fragrance card rubbed on skin). However, after a spray on skin, I fell in love. Floral and fresh, but not overpowering (white flowers tend to be overwhelming on me). I’ve heard it described as being reminiscent of the steam you smell when cooking rice and I think that very accurately captures the feel—that smell in a spring garden, while drinking freshly squeezed orange juice in a crisp white button up or cashmere sweater. This is somewhat reminiscent of, surprisingly, Victoria’s Secret Heavenly from the 90s but much richer and more complex and expertly blended.

A lovely and a refreshing change from my numerous moody scents!

toushiroumimi

Yeah she's girly young and wearing a mini white dress...
Its Green and very medicinal...

For myyyyy nose the Narcissus and Orange Peel bitterness are the most prominent notes...

....... I am so sorry to say this but for meeeeee it smells like bugs spray

michelle779

My review is based on a carded sample I received.

I usually do not like green scents and I’m not a big fan of Creed’s fragrances, but this one is done so well. It smells so lush and unique. The green and yellow floral are the most prominent on my skin with hints of vanilla and rose and a little bit of coconut. It lasts for quite a bit of time.

lifnisanders

This made me understand why some of fragrances can cost more than the other. Its so unique and fresh, its familiar yet different. Shes gentle and firm. I love it. It is giving me a vibe of your elegant housewife and a mother in all white suit. More powdery scent and floral on me. Last really long too specially on clothes.

I absolutely love this perfume, it's so unique and I haven't smelt anything like it before so worth the niche price, it's an investment for a wedding day or occasional wear unless of course your rich enough to wear it as a signature, I love the elegance of the bottle and the way it makes me feel, if I smell this on someone they smell clean & rich.

RottigrlNYC

Ok when I first bought this bottle, I was new to Niche and didn’t like this perfume. I didn’t appreciate it. I put it away and never used it again. I tried getting rid of it a few times but this perfume is too expensive to just give away. So I just took it out today, about 3 years later. And wow, it’s not at all like I remembered it. It’s beautiful and unique, I have no other perfumes like this one. It also seems a lot stronger than 3 years ago. I actually really like it now. And it lasted on me all day. And to think, i almost gave this one away. I also have Love In Black that I purchased in 2007, I think. It was definitely right after it was released. I never really liked it, I bought it only coz of the hype around it. I put it away too, all these years. I need to dig it out and put my nose on it and see if i want to keep it and if I even like it. I remember it being very weird smelling. But back then I bought quite a few over hyped frags that I just bought and store it and never use it. I was a Dior Addict and Chanel girl. Now I’m a woman who is much more educated on Niche and designer fragrances. And my Niche collection is embarrassingly huge. But not my designers.

Ambroxer

Love in White smells just like it sounds. It’s pure, elegant and lovely…sort of. It also lacks any kind of romance or passion. The fragrance is very white floral dominant and they feel quite natural accompanied by a small splash of citrus. Still, I can’t help but think the flowers would be better off seen in a vase than smelled in this perfume.

Of course, there’s a place for this. Love in White could be an appealing springtime scent on the right person, even if it comes off to me as a little stodgy. It has a bridal character to it, certainly, and perhaps that is its intention. It is easy to imagine beautiful and ornate wedding dresses smelling this. Unfortunately, when really thought about, its just dresses in the store window, and nobody wants to marry the mannequin.

Mari-Antoinette

I love the rice note, to me it adds the semi sweetness of saki. It's comforting .. This is a nice white floral... Unique....

Dani C.

Huge no no for me. Spayed on me and had to shower right after. That’s how I hated this scent. That never happened to me before.

yujinclara

Started out nice and promising.
I could smell nice whiff of rice (freshly cooked sweetness) mixed with magnolia.
Then within ten minutes it turned into my mother’s Ponds cold cream from the 80’s.😞 No, no, no.
I had to shower to wash it off. A gentle scent of jasmin & ambergris remained…

strongerwithglue

This scent could easily have been called Purity. Certainly a womanly scent, the vibe I get is more of a demure woman, and it is unmistakably for the springtime. It's a pretty heady floral, it feels buoyant, almost watery, has a super clean vibe to it, and very easy to wear.

pinkstate

HELL no! lt opens up with a wet white paint scent that dries down as some herb/medicinal fragrance. The good thing is that it is gone in less than an hour.

TeachOlfactoryArt

I would rather wear a dirty Sanchez or a Cincinnati bow tie than this repugnant concoction.

CatWomann

I love the scent of magnolia blossoms and have happy memories of living in an area with lots of them. I treasure the magnolia scent this perfume has at the outset, though it becomes powdery over time, which is not my thing. I still do by small samples for special occasions. If anyone has another magnolia scent recommendation, please let me know.

dnesbitt

I got a sample to try of this fragrance. It is very nice, pleasant, and classy smelling. It is a true floral. I don’t think much more of it other than it’s nice, but I don’t think it’s special. I definitely do not think it’s worth the high price tag. It is very elegant though.

natasha.wahyudihardjo

This smells like a cold, prissy and petty school bully who always asks one of her minions to tie up her shoe laces. I hate this perfume with a passion.

d_silent_one

This is very reminiscent of Perles de Lalique. Very much so.

jsb41

Money. This smells like a woman who comes from money. Old money. European money. Her makeup is quality but never too much. Clothing-nothing too loud, tight, or revealing. Probably a debutante in her youth. So soft. Just barely a scent. I love that it’s like a baby floral unlike so many that are just so damn loud. Way overpriced but the effect remains. Class.

Joys of life

Green melon, orris, rice, jasmine, cucumber, white musk, vanilla. An odd perfume, yeasty, and pungent but also creamy and smooth. Somewhat sweet. Unflowery. I smelled it on myself all day from 1 spray, so I’d say this has excellent lasting power and projection. I’ll wear this occasionally.
*2005 bottle review

flow6like1flowers3

Smells a lot like Paloma Picasso, strong and heavy, lasted an our on my skin, spray one time to suffocate me for an hour. Not Original, purchased sample from creed.

fangpili

This is a soft, spring daytime scent predominantly blending magnolia, rice and narcissus. It has a mildly aquatic, lotus scent on my skin, quite watery and intimate in sillage, which must be the ambergris and makes it more interesting. People who enjoy very delicate & light aquatic white florals with a slightly soapy drydown would like this. Nevertheless, its longevity and sillage is very low, so while a pleasant carefree daytime perfume, it is by no means a masterpiece nor especially memorable. It's simply non offensive and easy to wear, especially for scent-sensitive people. I would say this is a fresh unisex scent that leans to the feminine.

Pinkpearls33

I rarely dislike perfumes and this was a huge disappointment. It smells oddly plastic-y on me and the sillage is very poor. You would have to be up into the area where it’s sprayed to smell it. I don’t smell much of the florals or even the vanilla. I think it’s the green factor that is overpowering and makes it smell like “plastic”. I wish I loved it. Maybe I will give it another go. The dry down smells a lot better though.

nikath

Love in White is a clean and sophisticated scent, reminiscent of an exclusive soap or skin care product. The comfort and satisfaction of this scent lies in its simplicity. This scent is for an elegant person, someone who picks simple, classic and well-crafted garments over extravagant trend items. Great scent for every day wear with signature scent potential.

danygurl06

I keep trying this and my impression never changes. It smells like crushed chalk mixed with unscented body cream and hints of puréed vegetation. It smells a hair sweeter on paper/clothes than on skin. The chalkiness reminds me a little of Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir.

I get very little sweetness. Feels sexless instead of unisex even though marketed towards women. I would think it’s a men’s scent if had to guess by smell alone.

I do NOT understand the association with Dove. Dove smells pretty and clean. At first this has the same bitter green smell as Creed Royal Water and Eau de Lancaster on my skin. It starts off smelling like Royal Water drowned by tons of unscented body lotion and cream. There are hints of soapiness from a bar of soap, but mostly cream.

Eventually the green notes softens to something similar to that in Amouage Reflections women and Estée Lauder Pleasure. It becomes even creamier. Ultimately, it smells like unscented body care product.

It’s a very minimalistic and androgynous scent. Smell clean and futuristic. The only notes I can sense are iris, rice and magnolia. I wish it were a little sweeter and little less of that greeness. I would never think someone smelling like this was wearing a perfume. I love the creaminess. Just wished it had more character. I might layer it.

This could be put in the same category as Chanel Paris Venise, J’adore Voile de Parfum, Philosophy Pure Grace and Sylvaine Delacourte Dovana.

Update: I’ve been testing several Creed fragrances. What I’m perceiving as the green note may actually be the ambergris. That’s the only thing all these Creeds have in common.

Update #2: It’s now summer. It’s hot and it’s humid. I think my nose may have changed or I’ve changed my body’s natural biome by changing my diet. I’m liking Love in White better now than Love in White for Summer. It’s just creamy clean and so effortless.

That strange strong green note that was bothering me has finally settled down. It’s now perfect. I guess you could say it’s similar to smelling like Cerave moisturizing cream in the tub. The more I smell it, the more I think it could even pass as unisex.

Even though it’s clean and fresh, it’s also a bit elegant. I like that it not too much in your face because that makes it a great everyday wear. The price is a bit steep, but why pay for something you aren’t going to enjoy on a regular basis.

Naomie

It’s nice.. has the Creed DNA which I adore, at this moment I’d say it would be in my top 10 list. 💃🏽

Konga5000

THINK:
If Dove soap cost $200.00 , THIS is what it would smell like! Beautiful .. but.. did not last on me at all (!) after I sampled it in the store. wow.

Bint_Brooks

Well... I must say the beginning is beautiful. However, the dry down is nothing but the smell of white oud. Thinking about exchanging‼️

PixieKiwi

I find this nauseating after the first few mins. Starts off smelling like Dove handwash and then comes the most awful green note.... resembling coriander. Hated it so much that i threw my shirt in the wash and scrubbed the scent off myself in the shower.

Edit : approx 5 days after i sprayed this on my coat, i can still smell it but the scent is quite nice and tolerable after the green coriander-ish note wore off. Still unsure about investing in a fb though.

morganbowden

One of the few scents that I really can’t bear on my skin. Think it must be the ambergris but I found it pretty soulless, cold and unsettling. This sounds a bit dramatic but for some reason, every time I’ve had to be around this (I used to work at Creed - and this was very popular) I’d get a bizarre flashback to the time I tried on Etat Libre D’Orange Secretions Magnifiques - lactonic whilst being simultaneously sterile. Not for me.

V-Nose

I really dislike florals, BUT THIS, This is what you call a Royal, Luxury, perfectly blended floral fragrance. I read somewhere that every time Michelle Obama would interview on TV, people would compliment and ask what she was wearing. Now guess what that was..... There is a reason why Creed has been in business since 1760, do yourself a huge favor, and sample this scent. Its perfect for spring and summer for a sophisticated lady.

IG @VirginNose

ladieqah

Clean with a splash of citrus. i love this perfume. yes its a boring scent which u may smell from face cleanser or skin care products. projection quite good and as like all other Creeds it long lasting.

imagine being in a flower garden, wearing white dress ❤️

mychinarose

I’m confused by the reviews that call this skin scent. I sprayed this 4 hours ago (only 2 sprays) and it is just as strong right now as when I sprayed it. It is beautiful. To me it is a slightly spiced creamy giant white flower. I can totally see this as a signature scent of a sophisticated, kind, regal, intelligent, famous woman. This is exactly Michelle Obama, but could also be someone like Kate Middleton...although I’d say it’s a little bit grand for her right now. This is a Queen scent not a Princess scent. You have to have the right personality and daresay stature (not necessarily physical height) to pull this off and to have it feel like it is yours. So then I can really see how this would feel ill-fitting and off-putting for so many. That is okay, definitely move on. I would love to have a scent like this be my signature...were I to be the kind of woman who could stay faithful to just one perfume! But yeah. This perfume is definitely regal. And you know...you gotta be born that way! ;-)

Chao

It;s very very long lasting. All Creed are extremely long lasting but all of them have old scent. Very outdated not good at all. We sprayed our shoes with it

will.sosi

For me this perfume smells exactly like the brand Clean Skin.

Gossie

Made my day!
Little bit soapy, milky, classy floral fragrance. Bright zest orange on the opening and after dry down is creamy with vanilla and sandalwood. Performance is quite enough.

Biraz sabunsu, sutlu,şık ciceksi bir koku. Acilisi oldukca parlak portakal kabugu kokusuyla yapiyor, kurumaya basladiginda vanilya ve sandalagaci ile kremsi yapiya donusuyor. Performansi da tatmin edici. Her mevsime uygun oldugunu dusunuyorum fakat ozellikle ilkbahara daha cok yakisacak bence.

FreddyK

I must say i like this one. It is not a "fall in love" but it is still likable. The scent is floral and You can definitely fell the quality of the scent.

SugarAndSativa

Michelle Obama is a woman of class and taste, so when I was choosing the samples for my discovery set from Creed I immediately threw this one in.

I don't gravitate towards florals - or anything clean for that matter. My dislike for anything clean comes from a childhood inundated with relatives only dousing themselves in anything "clean" (which I refer to as the era of CK One).

Upon initial spray, Love In White does have an astringent note, but that fades rather quickly. I was afraid it wouldn't have any presence (hello Sublime Vanille), but it had decent sillage and its projection was impressive. It isn't so strong that it'll knock people over, but it makes its presence known.

Plus, the more it dried down, the milkier it got. There was a bit of powder accompanying the milky note, but it wasn't enough to bother me. It felt cool, refreshing, and light.

I did buy myself a backup decant should I want to test drive this a little bit more, as I think this might end up being part of my permanent collection at some point in the future.

A helpful sidenote: I think this would be easy to be a bit heavy-handed with, so I would advise caution and not go overboard with this one.

emerson10

In high school, my dance team coach was this effortless cool, blonde, kind perfect woman, AKA a poster child for this perfume. And she always smelled AMAZING. Like so good. One day I asked what perfume she wore and she told me Love in White.

I thought cool I'll go to Sephora and buy it. And that's the day I learned perfume can cost more than $100. I went to Saks. This smelled amazing in the bottle. I sprayed it on myself and would you believe it -- that was also the day I learned we all smell different in the same perfumes.

Me- a chubby, little 15 year-old did not smell like my radiant, perfectly tanned, dance teacher. Still, I begged my mom for it for my 16th birthday and that's what I got. And I wore it for the next 10 years seeking validation but instead walking around smelling like sweet plastic powder.

WHO I PICTURE THIS ON:
a perfect blonde woman marrying a Goldman banker on her wedding day

Jenna K

I really love this scent. It smells classy, clean and unsuspecting. If you like an oriental scent without the overpowering wood and spice, you will enjoy Love in White. The orange peel stood out the most at first, but as it dried all of the notes blended perfectly and harmoniously. My only complaint is I wish it was longer lasting.

Anast4s1a

This is exist in wardrobe room of every Englishgirl's.
It's like :
raw white chalk in which been lay daffodil, tons of white musk & light citrus. The sounding is more fondant than powdery. If desired all this can be combined into the scent of magnolia (of drowing in musk ). Yes, and the smell of freshly mown lawn with dandelions (like the smell something new)
On the skin gives some kind of inanimate effect. A doll or magnequin in a white silk dress.

boutique1

This was my first scrubber when I tested it. I had been rather tolerant to my dislikes to give them a second chance I could find their attraction, but this one I couldn't bear a single minutes. I think it's the ambergris that didn't suit me. And as time goes by I came to find most of products from this house are scrubbers to me. Expensive, luxury and well known for its quality house I know, but for me, just pass.

NoelleNice

Sharp and clean on the opening, and light and inoffensively subtle and pretty on dry down, which is a bit of a generic floral vanilla. I like it, but it is a bit underwhelming given the price and my expectations of it. Glad I sampled this in store because it probably doesn’t warrant a full sample vial for me. I feel like sprayed liberally this would smell nice enough though, but it had very low silage.

Siv7Stars

Stupidly expensive n incredibly boring, this is the Kate Middleton of perfumes. The smell of a maiden aunt circa 1952. Vague hint of Diesel Loverdose Tattoo, which I guess is the rice note. If this your creed you believe in nothing.

Petula009

This is a very very clean, soft, minimal scent.
I see a bride during the beach ceremony wearing this. Or somebody with a very clean and minimal style.
It is a nice scent, stays for a long time, but it is not for me. It is a very poutent, smells almost a bt detergent-like, if you want to layer it.
Vibes: clean, summer, minimal, bride-like, ethereal,

bertheymans

Love this, I get iris, vanilla and jasmine. The orange peel in the opening isn't obvious. A very clean smell. Everything in the list of notes that's not a flower is in there to compliment the flower notes. Not sure about some of the unisex remarks, smells feminine to me.

I don't agree with remarks about it being pungent. It's Creed, you buy something that only requires one or two carefully applied sprays.

Lyenna

I love this scent. This is the one floral fragrance that I can honestly say is beautiful to my nose. Unfortunately longevity, sillage and projection is so poor, that after 8 sprays it became a skin scent within 5 minutes. No one could detect it. That’s way too much money for a skin scent. If those things don’t matter it is a beautiful fragrance.

AveParfum

Underwhelming. My least favorite Creed. A sharp floral with something tangy and bothersome. This was not creamy, and I detected no rice. No sweetness, no softness, nothing powdery. Smells rather like all the florals are synthetic. Sillage was quite heavy at first, but the fragrance was totally undetectable within about 2 hours. I’m not sure what’s happening at that house. I will stick to their classics—Vanisia and Jasmine Imperatrice. Hard to believe any first lady would choose this!

muckata_11

This is really strange. High price, very long lasting, but nothing special. This is my opinion. I was expecting something special, but I noticed something in it that I can't stand.

Fragaddict1111

class and elegance in a bottle!

Zentocs

It's a nice but nothing else scent, too clean, too simple...and maybe innocent. I can imagine for a firs lady who must be always political correct but it's not that perfume whom I could express myself. I think it's can be good for a shy woman to. Or for an assistant behind the boss.

lrnonken

Likeable, floral, light, not very strong and base notes are not very apparent

SuzanneS

Works great in the spring . A nice casual wear. The more I wear it the more I like it.

AnlisaC

This is my scent of the day! I remember back in 2005 when this was the talk of the town, hence I bought 2 bottles. It reminds me of my daughter she was a year old and the first niche fragrance I bought.

Love in White is a beautiful floral, clean and light not heady in anyway, well that’s on me. I love the notes including rice and magnolia. It’s clean with no sharp notes what so ever, inoffensive and great for the office. It is a very unassuming white floral which sits close to my skin. Sillage is light. Perfect for summer.
Now longevity on the other hand is about 2 hours not great. Sad but true.

In general I highly recommend and I will put on body lotion and spray lightly on clothes just so I can wear this beauty all summer long.

Jheart1978

Love in White..... I enjoy this fragrance! Yes it’s unique with the rice that gives a creamy feel.....and not everyone will appreciate. I’ve never tried anything like this scent and find it very pleasant. Some say it smells soapy or cheap, but I disagree......most just don’t appreciate the unusual. Well maybe they don’t like the price for Creed scents. Not offensive just sweet and clean! I’ve heard it’s the fragrance choice of our past First Lady, I thought that was interesting! Makes sense because this scent is for a mature woman who wants to be remembered.

Jheart1978

Creed Love in White, my first fragrance from this line. The scent is very interesting and has a secret note that’s odd..... must be the rice! But I prefer my scent to be different......not so normal.....makes me feel unique. When your collection starts over growing you want the odd, the unusual. The fragrance is lovely.

shushkin

A pleasant scent but it doesn't blow me away. I get a big wallop of magnolia with softness provided by the rice and a kick from the narcissus at the start.
Once the magnolia eases off a bit after 15 - 30 mins I enjoy it much more. Its the scent of spring. Its interesting how the rice adds a creaminess. I can just about pick out the Amber gris and some wood.
I've got to admit I was hoping for much more orange and mock orange which are fave notes.I can pick them out but I would just liked to have more.
A very classy, elegant floral. Nothing cheap, screechy, too sweet or cloying.
I guess it's very expensive to retain some exclusivity. Its too pricey for me. I get moderate longevity and sillage.

SanyaDaer

Quite a pleasant perfume, however I was expecting something more. It smells nice on me - subtle and flowery (I certainly do not smell rice. Problems are sillage and longevity - definetely not worth the price tag for me.

missKK82

Love in White is a very soft citrusy floral powder. I could feel the citrus effect all day long and you can still sniff at the end of the day, but the sillage was very low on me. It is very fresh clean scent and apt for office setting. Its very nice to be worn on daily basis but thats about it. Nothing exciting you would expect from house like Creed.

I have recently tried few Creed fragrances and actually surprised how average they were considering creed has developed for dignitaries and royals.Their frags. are soft and don't feel chemically or artificial and you don't get alcohol punch in your face but thats not enough. I expected them to be magical. May be I need to sniff more Creeds.

sukisiamese

I cannot believe that some mention Michelle Obama and her favorite fragrance. That would be a reason not to wear it anymore. I bought this fragrance many years ago and I love it. For me it’s nothing special as I prefer love in black so much better. It’s almost like the opposite of each other.

If you love very sweet on the border of being too sweet, you would like this one. I wished I could pick out the notes but once in a while there’s a few fragrances that I cannot.

raiza1990

For this price tag, i was expecting something much nicer. This is sharp and weird. The opening smells like something similar to hay and a medicine/cleaning product that has gone bad. I can not describe it in any other way. It has been a long time since a perfume repulsed me in this way.
After some hours, it smells generically sweet and it is pleasant, but anyway, it is a no go to me.

Lotv73

I am convinced that I have an odd nose or something. I love this! Everyone on Fragrantica seems to love the Poison line. I think HP is just ok and I hate the others because they make me nauseous. I tend to love the polarizing fragrances like Alien and La Vie Est Belle too, so keep that in mind when you read my review. This reminds me a bit of Banana Republic W, but prettier and way nicer. I thinks it’s beautiful. I will most likely buy a full bottle. I admit that this is on the higher end of what I’m willing to pay for a fragrance though.

kastehelmi

My toddler has a very open mind regarding perfumes, she likes several I wear, but she has clearly told me when she doesn't like something. I decided to swipe on the beautiful Michelle Obama's favorite, hoping to smell something different fron the first time I tried it years ago.My daughter said "No! I don't like it!" I asked her if she was sure and she said "Uh-uh, no like it". It's a very very sharp washing powder scent, with magnolia. While I wouldn't mind if my clothes smell like this in a more toned down way, I prefer either unscented detergent,or the smells of certain all-natural varieties. Or the Mexican Jabon Ariel. There are a lot of people who are into intense white soap smells. In general, I am not one of them.

Bubbles1964

I've always avoided the House of Creed because of price. But then I read that this was Michelle Obama's favorite so I bought my first Creed decant.

I like it but the jury is still out: that's a lot of $ for a white floral scent that stays one dimensional on my skin, only fading over time. Soft and powdery, I can't pick out anything but magnolia (or what I think is magnolia). I don't smell PlayDoh but I do pick up on a synthetic note. Ends up feeling a little sharp to my nose.

I'm going to keep my decant and try this again in warmer weather, but for now it's not on my wish list.

greenbluegray

Sample is here, seems very unisex now that I can get a good dose on me. The rice/PlayDoh exists like I had hoped, with lots of flowers and citrus on top and also a strong clean-detergent vibe. I don't see this scent, while nice, as white or love. What I pictured was sort of a wedding day scent. At the current cost, a bottle will never be mine unless I am very lucky, ah well.

Funny note: Luca Turin hates this for some reason and describes it as "burial wreath." His description goes even further, lol!

===

I have a sample of this coming and will update. Said to be worn by Michelle Obama, and you here have also mentioned Angelina Jolie and Laura Bush wearing it. I was intrigued by it being on a PlayDoh note list and by the description as a white floriental with creaminess. I think it is the rice/milky note that drives me crazy with its PlayDohi-shness.

How many samples do you order a month? How does one stop? I read about fragrance so much but don't live near a major city where I can smell more things.

breatheme

I think I was swayed by the marketing, but I had convinced myself this would be my signature scent. I tried it instore and glad I did that before committing to buying it.

On paper, it smelled ok, nice and light but probably replaceable. A light powdery seaside scent that dried down to a soft musk.

I tested it in store on skin, boy all I could smell was coriander. I enjoy eating it with other food but smelling it? Not nice.

17seyed

Pros: The rice note smells like actual dry rice

Cons: I find the smell of dry rice absolutely disgusting

tandaina

I'm glad I bought a decant.

Is it pretty. Yes. But is it gorgeous, heart stopping, worth the cost pretty? No. In fact I have far prettier white florals than this.

It is light, it is very polite, clean, and gentle. I'll give it that. You could wear this anywhere and no one would be offended. But I feel like there are dozens (hundreds) of pretty, inoffensive white florals that cost a tiny fraction of this. Some of them are also more interesting.

AntigoneAscending

I don't think I could ever pay the hefty price tags for a FB of this amazing stuff, but man... am I tempted. For now, I will settle for small samples for 20$ a pop. This is simple, but elegant and soapy white floral happiness! I love it! I will save it for weddings and other fancy, fancy occasions. I wish I had tried this one before I got married! Floral bliss!

pERfumista5

I have a full bottle of this if anyone is looking for it.

kati77

It is hard to describe this fragrance, yet the feeling i had when i was wearing it was naturally elegant.
Something smooth, something classy and fresh flowery wibe.
Dont know why its called love in white, does not suit much.
But i recommed to check this scent.

loraxsix

Test before you buy, this is a love or hate perfume. All I get is a very strong milky detergent smell that makes me nauseous. Sadly it didn't settle down or evolve on my skin like other Creed offerings. The scent does have incredible lasting power, though... if you do like this.

Snowah12chill

This is my signature scent. Lovely and long lasting. It has the best chemistry with my body and skin. My most complimented perfume. A friend told me once, they knew I came already because they smelled my scent in the elevator. They adore white in love because of me. Heavenly sweet smell of sophistication and very classy.

diluted paintbox

This fragrance is aggressive. It is sharp, it gets me nauseous and sneezy.

At the first moment, it was so familiar to me and although there are completely other notes, it smelled totally tropical to me. And then it hit me: Escada! I haven't smelled them since they were out, so I don't really remember exactly how they smelled, but it reminds me of Escada Rock in rio or maybe Sunset heat. Don't know which one, I know it was around 2005 and it had an orange bottle. According to the notes, this is impossible, but for my nose it is so familiar.

Later, it fades and it gets floral. Bad, cheap floral, nothing special. There is only one phase where this perfume is (only) nice, where there is fine balance between flowers, orange and rice, otherwise, I do not find anything beautiful in it.

babypowderblues

imagery: bright icicle. clinky glasses filled with ice. iced coffee, alert, to be worn when hosting a social business gathering in winter. Makes me feel like bright white light. fresh floral. It reminds me of an impeccably dressed assistant to a CEO/socialite greeting everyone at her ice garden party and being a great hostess. She is a can do type of lady, a Libra who is feminine but with a masculine strength and a plan underneath. It's nice on me but nothing remarkable. makes me think of beautiful white icicles, a cold scent, but a beautiful one. I am enjoying it, but not enough to buy it (i got a decant) - it is refreshing. It would be nice to have in my collection for a beautiful winter's day.

thief of hearts

I gifted this to my mom in its soap form. Reminds me of the subtle wafts of Jasmine I smelled outside the house at night when I was young.

Augustarina

I am disappointed that this one doesn't work for me. The initial spray seemed somewhat fresh/clean but Iris was bursting through and then it turned into something that reminded me of childrens' grape-flavoured Tylenol. Maybe that was still the iris, I don't know. After 5 hours, I end up with very bitter orange peel. No jasmine or vanilla.. poor me, lol. sadly I can't connect with this scent on any level.

Skayalily

This is quite dry for a white floral with ambergris in the base. The rice brings an interesting effect; I can smell it as if I were sticking my face into a bag of rice. It's that aerosol dustiness that smells rice-y, plain white rice. There is also some darkness buried in the scent. It instantly reminded me of Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man, where the white paint is made "white"-er by the addition of a single drop of black per can. (I know it's a weird digression and there's a ton more symbolism behind that scene in the book.)
I wouldn't say that it's "pretty" but rather, lovely (with a lowering of the voice). I get a ladylike and mature impression, but not an aged mature, a sophisticated despite youth mature.
It lasted with soft sillage for several hours.

CasuallyFragrant

An absolutely stunning and classy perfume.

What a masterpiece in creating such a gorgeous feminine scent, which isn't too sweet, not too strong, but intoxicating nonetheless.

I get an almost synthetic vanilla sandalwood with the iris. A combo I adore.
This is the upscale and subdued older sister of Juliette Has a Gun's Mmmm... (Another scent I adore). A perfect daytime office scent for a professional setting.

The price is high, but you can almost smell the luxury and high quality ingredients in this perfume. I swear my nose has gotten spoilt smelling this fragrance and has become a bit of a brat demanding to smell it more!

I'm almost done my sample and will need to purchase a full bottle soon!

I love this. It's just so uplifting. No matter how I feel when I smell this I feel better. It's just beautiful and clean and it makes me feel happy and awake and energized. My husband isn't a fan of it. I don't think the sillage is strong because other people can't seem to smell it. But I don't care. This is my favorite fragrance as of late and I recommend everyone to at least get a sample and try it. I love this so much!

Floral Punch...

I do like this one. I think it's a very strong powdery floral in the opening which is good value for money as it is strong. I get a lot of white florals that project and come across strongly. I get the iris and jasmine and the rice notes. I think it could be suitable for formal occasions. I could see it working casually if applied lightly. Ultimately though, I can think of other fragrances that would offer better value for money if on a budget. Famous people may indeed wear it but that's due to the price and exclusivity more than anything else. I do think it's one to try, but I can't find the depth and intricacy as in other perfumes, although it is undoubtedly well made. It's a loud, yet pedestrian floral that is worth the money if you have it, just not what I would personally recommend if on a budget, or if money was an issue. Overall, well made and will get you noticed. Not at all a bad fragrance from Creed, but not the most complex (to my nose).

Rice+milk+sugar, this is it, this is exactly it!
The truth is it has personality behind it, if you're not a right one don choose it at all! What i realize is an aged(or better say matured), experienced and moral woman! The name is exactly the fragnance, white is the appropriate color for this perfume, i gave it to my mother 'cause its not my cup of tea. Although i didn like it , i must say as always creed is extraordinary & ifferent. It is extremly unique !

Jillzilla

On my skin, this is a slightly sour, milky white floral without any powdery facets. The daffodil/narcissus is very intensive on me, with the magnolia not far behind. I felt some creaminess from the rice, but I could not detect the other notes on my skin. It started out very loud, and within two hours it became a skin-scent, still with daffodil, magnolia, and rice. It is apparent to me that I just don't have the right skin chemistry for this one!

Perfumeaddict777

Another creed that is love at first sniff for me. I have and adore love in black a now love in white! This fragrace is so hard to explain in words. So unique, strange and beautiful. Creed gets alot of hate but i do not care what others think, because i think they are high quality very long lasting and interesting perfumes. Creed love in white opens with a clean sterile scent (i love Germany's review, she explains it so well). I smell alot of orange zest, freshly grated orange zest. This lasts about 20 minutes before a milky creamy note comes in. I also smell ambergris. As time goes on it smells clean still but the milky note gets more intense. With this, i keep smelling a very familiar green note and suddenly realized... its cilantro! Fresh cilantro! I use fresh cilantro all the time in cooking and this smell gets on my hands, i know that its cilantro. It sounds weird but it actually is amazing in love in white, it adds complexity and green freshness to the milky facets. I've never smelled anything like it. Very long lasting! And sillage is moderate! I love it and this will be my next purchase!

Mokokos

Love in White is a fabulous Fragrance. In 2005 Creed sent one of the first bottles of this Fragrance to the First Lady Laura Bush who fell in love with it. It was her signature scent and she received lots of compliments at the White House galas in the next 3 years. This Fragrance is really unisex. It has a very clean Fragrance and excellent staying power. It smells a little different on everyone but still gives off the clean vibe which can be attributed to the rice powder and the orange blossom. It's a masterpiece.

ElleNell

All I can say is clean, fresh, classy, timeless, elegant. Smells like that fresh out of shower or bath type scent. Smells like your the cleanest women in the world. It's quite mild but you can still smell it's distinct smell. I was expecting it to be more creamy but after I got used to it, it's perfect just as it is. Smell expensive and luxurious and that it is. Perfect for women with a classic miminalist sense of chic.

Germany

Ambergris and rice is the biggest factor in this perfume , ambergris should be voted way higher. Makes me believe most people don't know what it smells like. I happen to love it. It's a musky salty note that can smell synthetic and or a sweet earthy aroma , like a damp forest ? Basically it's waht love in white smells like , to me it's the main note in this perfume , the centre !
Love in white has a pure white , classic elegant nurturing smell , it starts clean and floral ,milky , somewhat polerizing ,sterile cold and minimalistic. Unique and very interesting.
It's feminine for sure.

Starts of a little odd to my nose the orange peel combines with the RICE note is so Contradictory to me it's like putting bitter orange peel into my warm glass of milk ! Also the magnolia is quite loud and screechy with a lemony waxy but lush character. It's so different to any other perfume on the market and it's a odd combination of cold and warm. Ying and Yang , Bitter and sweet. It feels almost sterile , loud ,SYNTHETIC , CLEAN and metallic !

Apparently lots of love for this perfume , I came across a great you tube review on it by Jasper Buckingham. I think it was his review that made me order it finally , today.
I asked my husband what he thinks of it and he said it's very fresh and beautiful. Very different though he said , but good different. He said he can't place the smell and had never smelled anything like that before.
It's certainly interesting , I must say.
I agree with genny17 it's not a oriental floral , and other sites call it woody aromatic, woody musky floral and all sorts of other more suitable categories for this clean ETERNAL scent.
Also I want to say it smells very diffferent on paper. Or when you spot sniff it rather than in the air and letting the aroma come to you instead.
It's elegant ,clean and I find INNOCENT in a way ,

Update , Some call it MOTHERLY Makes sense beacuase of the MILKY nature of this scent. A little like breastmilk , sweet, sour , comforting. Hmmmm never thought of this. I think slowly I am understanding this perfume better.

Another update ,
Reminds me also of body cream, little bit of Nivea after it has been on the skin for a while. It's a true WHITE scent. The scent of milk , lotion,STERILE cold slightly METALIC , sharp yet MINIMALISTIC in nature.
Very interesting , very unique. I feel PURE wearing it.

Lasts forever into the next days. My washroom still smells of it from when I sprayed it 2 days ago and so does my scarf. It smells fresh and clean.
- Becoming one of my favourites !
It's actually quite clean fresh and natural , like most creeds ,
Big fan !
Feb, 2018 , I have been wearing this lately and likening it even more than when I wrote this review , I love the sweet combination with the breath of fresh air ,,,and yes cilantro note. A soapy green cilantro note indeed. Absolutely wonderful creation ,,,,, completely unique !

genny17

This is a beautiful perfume, it has a freshness mixed in with some nice florals..like this isn't a big floral, this is a complex scent, it has of course a niche quality, I detect the narcissus, and the rice note is delicate and played so harmoniously with some fresher notes..the scent expresses confidence..yet remains feminine . I find it also to be a cold scent, especially in the top notes..it is refined, not not warm, nor sensuous.
Why is it that it gets so criticized !? But Creed always gets put down, and people forget the scent is so majestically put together..there is a natural sweetness also that makes it more than a floral scent...not sure I would call it oriental floral, mind you it had a green vibe throughout, it is also a bit grassy..still feminine, still attractive .

Aiant

I must confess something : I saw a list of perfumes they use celebrities Holliwood and other great figures of music and the world. And I thought what these famous women feel when using LIW ? Why is your favorite perfume? Well, just out of curiosity, i bought it.
My first thought when I smelled it , was OMG is wonderful! then I was watching its evolution from a soft floral sweetness to a creamy blend of sophisticated scents. I felt powerful , yes, that's the word , as a woman of great influence in business, elegant, distinguished as the " boss" . Not exactly the aroma would choose for a night of romance , but absolutely my first choice when I want to feel bright and triumphant , especially in those days of great challenges. They say it is not important who you are, if you want to be, what you project , and it is this perfume everyday makes me feel successful and positive. Thanks CREED !

ScarlettX - I couldn't have worded it better myself. I kept trying and trying thinking it was my nose "for the day", but nope.....something just "off".

ScarlettX

I thought this was something super special, because every time I wanted to try it in a department store, the tester bottle was empty.
Today I finally got to try it and it's weird in my opinion. There's a not very pleasant milky undertone to it and I don't like it.
It wants to stand out and it does, just not in a good way.
I don't know if this is rice note or something else, but something bothers me in this perfume.

God I love this frag. This is not a stark, heavy, cloying white floral scent. For me, this is a buttery creamy white thing of beauty. All these soft white florals that are so aggressive in other scents combine in such a sublime way here, as if they were hushed by the perfumer himself. Gentle and quiet, yet bloom on your skin in the heat. This is an exquisite summer-time fragrance. If you love white florals, you absolutely need this.

SCCARAMELGIRL

I love Creed's Love in White. It smells so elegant and classic. This is a great spring and summer scent. This is a scent that I will always have in my collection.

b.gracious

Scent - orange peel paired with magnolia, sandalwood, vanilla, jasmine & rose.

Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.

Projection - I did get noticed, It garners compliments.

Longevity - I get 8hrs consistently.

lilymorena

My first Creed and also a birthday present (I chose it above Lys from Le Labo). I was looking for a mature flowery orange scent that doesn't smell like refreshment or candy and I found it. Love in White is a fragance to wear day or night and during all seasons. Right now in a warm spring it feels perfect for the evening and going out to a restaurant. Love in White is all about flowers with orange playing around. It is not harsh and it has no sour elements. Its is not sweet nor bitter just round and creamy, totally unisex and it has a excellent longevity. Gorgeus and I love it.

mm01001101

This was love for first sniff! It smelled lovely on paper and I could not wait to try it on my skin. After the first impression of citrus and floral notes fades away the rice and vanilla dominate and stay with you for about 4-6 hours. It is elegant and sophisticated. How a lady should smell like. Price is a bit too much, but it is definitely worth a try!

Soofiya

I can see why they call it smells like detergent, saop and washing powder, actually it IS a bit syntethic and very clean smelling but not bad to my nose
Love in white is light, smooth, powdery and soapy and clean, but in a lovely classy way
I prefer more alive, more spiced, sweater and more sexy smelling scents specially during cold days, but this one is really good for springs when you are dressed in white and want to smell kind, clean and innocent, this is truely a white scent,it is light but it stays very good on me and I really like the orange-powder-white floral combo sometimes
I don't know I really love this one or it's just a like for me but I really love the opening, creamy magnolia+orange+blasts of powdery iris,I love how fresh, clean and simple it starts and as middle and base notes show up,it turns to be even more lovely, magnolia orange juice dries down to a yummy powding, there is vanilla cream with a touch of warmness,a bit of it,not overtly sweet or heavy +a hint of sandalwood that makes the combination even more creamy + a dominant rise(in a delicately sweet rise powding form not in the un cooked plant form)
Love in white reminds me spring, not spring of nature,it reminds me a womanly spring with lovely changes inside the home, washed fresh smelling cotton sheets(washed with an orange flavoured washing liquid) and sheer white shirts and dresses and my beloved mom serving rise powding for us,with a bit hurry because there is lots of work to do ,window is half open and a pale before spring's morning sun with a touch of warmness and smell of fresh, cool air with whiffs of floral scents enter the home, make us lazy and prefer to go outside and play instead of helping mom...love in white reminds such a day,a lovely day from my chilhood, reminds a white simple love,my mom
To be honest,I love it

Cloudburst2000

This is a very elegant, ladylike fragrance. It is also rather unusual. I haven't smelled anything quite like it before. Because of that it took a while to grow in me. I wasn't initially a huge fan but after several uses from a couple samples, I thought it was great. It is floral with some creamy rice undertones. I also get a hint of citrus. This is my special occasion perfume...weddings, anniversaries, etc.

ParfumAmour

This is so light I can hardly smell it. I heard a lot about this so was keen to try it and did a blind buy. It is like a very watered down and overly light version of Pleasures by Estee Lauder. Or an extremely diluted White Musk. Basically the lightest floral possible with a little powder.
In fact baby powder or baby lotion has a stronger scent than this. Virtually any floral would have more scent and staying power, I would not waste money on this.

Lille Rosse

I agree that this one has a plastic doll note in it. I have had LIW before and have never quite understood how anyone could like it. I think our noses are as special as our eyes. I am not sure if it is all about body chemistry anymore. I suppose we do perceive and interpret scents very differently. I still spray a bit of it on the sleeves of my jackets or coats when I go to stores that sell it. Just to see if I can smell anything else than a barbie doll, baby bottle with fatty milk and floral yogurt in the sun mix. I cannot notice anything pleasant like wonderful floral gardens or fresh flowers like others do. Sometimes I can smell it without feeling sick to my stomach and sometimes can't. Don't get me wrong it does not smell sugary or sickly sweet at all, just that the floral milkiness reminds me of baby puke on clean clothes.

To my nose there is nothing feminine with this one. I believe it must be one of the weirdest juices ever sold in a perfume bottle.

amirali0072000

Elegant scent .English garden scented water. Pretty, so good wearing it!!! So so so good!!!! WOW!

elaM

This bottle and I...welllll we started on a rough note. It smelled like cilantro on me but there was something magical that made me think of it constantly.
We parted ways for a while but then I missed it way too much to distance myself any longer. So I reached out to it and we fell in love all over again. I forgave the cilantro part, I try looking the other way when the cilantro wakes up on my skin.
I want to say I crave this beauty. I mean literally crave it. I am obsessed.
The sweetness and the mystery in this bottle are out of this world.
This is magic. We are inseparable now.

Steleale

GORGEOUS. FEMININE. PURE. SEXY. CLEAN. DIVINE.

scoovale

Masaki Shiro by Matsushima is a parfum from 200 that smells like Love in White. I discovered it by accident while testing new fragrances in a shop. Maybe Love in White has a tiny more liquorice and vanilla taste in it but I could not swear on it. Anyway I like Love in White I just wish it would be a little bit sweeter in a way. Maybe a hint ofvanilla more. I am not sure that would pay the price ...maybe to high...there are better parfumes and far more feminine.

ANNAFRYS

Like a few others, I experienced uncertainty with this scent to begin with. But something made me go back to the sample and try it again a few days later (and again, and again) and now I like it so much I am buying a full bottle. To me it evokes a wedding in Hawaii with all those exotic white flowers. It's one of those scents that is great for evening, but somehow you can get away with it daytime too, especially now it's getting towards autumn

tabitha106

Just received a sample of Love in White from our Nordstrom's and think I'm in love! Beautifully blended floral heart with the Tonkin rice warming things up a bit, then drying down to that creamy vanilla and sandalwood. On me it's both sophisticated but still very feminine. This is a floral fragrance...but unlike most synthetically manufactured scents on the market today, it is not screaming flowers but rather a gentle falling of petals softly around. It's a bit pricey certainly, but just may be worth it for a new signature scent that all my friends are not wearing!!

Hilda0414

i applied with a spritz to each wrist. Screaming, high pitched, alcohol-laden disappointment....but only for several minutes. Then it dried down to a smooth combination of white, Spring flowers and I was happy.

Actually, had forgotten about it and several hours later I was working in my North Carolina flower garden and a gentle breeze brought me an amazing, light scent. No, the lilac bush is flowered "out". My dianthus had a barely detectable scent, the irises perhaps? Too far away...then I realized. It was my new EDP! Lovely!

Piscean-Blue

This fragrance smells exactly like the first floor of a high end department store. That wonderful smell of a whole bunch of stuff you wish you could have but can't afford condensed into one building. It just reeks of wealth, luxury and class. It is a very ladies-who-lunch type of situation. But not just any ladies. The wives of millionaires whose only jobs in life are to shop, look cute and make their staff/servants uncomfortable. This stuff is very sharp, very citrusy and screams "I AM OF THE ONE PERCENT!" If you make under 300,000 dollars a year, please don't purchase this (unless, that is, you want to smell like you make over 300,000 a year)...

I can't see this scent sitting well with everyone, nor would I call it "safe". White florals in general are quite lovely and uplifting, but Love In White is white to point of being a bit screechy and antiseptic. Seriously: there's a fine line between "uplifting" and "sterile hospital unit". And when a fragrance ventures too far into medicinal mode it can come across as detached. That's the weird thing about Love In White. It's loud, aggressive, but also detached! Getting back to the "millionaire" feel of it-- it's the olfactory equivalent of a well-dressed meticulously groomed woman who lacks empathy and warmth.

Like all creed picks it's expensive; I strongly advise snagging a sample before you commit to a full bottle of this stuff.

Things to note about this fragrance:
-It's not subtle. Heads will turn. Major, major silage.
-It is aggressively feminine; but a specific type of feminine. Think Madison Avenue shameless decadence.
-It is not at all "sexy" in my opinion, nor is it trying to be. It is all business, all class. This is something you'd spritz on before boarding your private jet. Think "Alexsis Colby" in predator mode.
-This is very much a "clean" fragrance, but exaggeratedly so. Again, very sharp citrus; nothing soft and light here. Spray it on if you need motivation to clean your messy apartment.

ZELJO

FLORAL,Big floral, totally femenine, cannot imagine a man wearing it, its opunlently floral, smells like a Mays morning in the countryside .pity last note is a bit plastic-artifficial,to me

aphexacid

This smells like a nice fresh floral for a quick 3 minutes. Then It morphs into smelling exactly like: a big dog ran into someone's back yard, jumped inside the swimming pool, then went for a romp through the flower garden.

I really can't be around this :(

desdal

LIW is beautifully blended ---strong on floral with a bit of rice husk and hint of vanilla. I do not get any citrus from this. It is truly lovely and very strong --- a little goes a long way as I’ve been playing with this from a test vial for at least a month and still have half left! Due to its strength and hardy sillage, it plays better outdoors on a cool to warm breezy day. I think I like it enough to buy it, so it will go on my wish list.

hippiechick13

This is such an unusual but fabulous fragrance.

I've had a sample of it sitting at home for a while and last night thought I'd actually try some on. It's a creamy, fresh, floral and citrus smell that has an almost minty kind of redolence to it which I quite like. It seems to stay the same throughout being worn and doesn't change too much at all which I like a lot. It does eventually dry down like any fragrance but it's really quite nice and classy. It's definitely a white or silvery feeling when wearing it. Clean and intelligent.

I love it!

EDIT:

Whoa!

I tried it from the bottle (versus from the small sample vial) and this is *way* too strong. It's far too chemical and cloying. I think this fragrance only works in small amounts (a dab to the wrists) and that's it. Far too screechy from the bottle in normal sprays.

michali

I like it but ine the summer it feels on me like
the signature cent of a doll,
if dolls would have one .
Innocent, round faced, cute plastic doll.
I like it but it just turns to sweet on me
maybe I will give it another chance in winter.
Update: today I love it
,it was just the weather.
It makes me feel good and optimistic.
Update: I want a bottle :)

Lilyfey

I'm a fan of many Creed creations but Love in White is one of a kind. I haven't smelled anything like this before. It's so far away from all mainstream designer fragrances and has definitely that particular "creed note" as I would call it. It's such a versatile scent! It truly work in any occasion, day & night, summer, winter, spring and fall. It's strange but it seems to adapt to its environment like a chameleon. In summer I get more of the orange and marine side of it, like a day on a boat, sailing. In Spring it feels fresh and floral, with yellow flowers, especially creamy narcissus and gets more cosy and warm in autum, flowers mixing with vanilla, making it also an excellent choice for winter days, where its warm woodsy notes are hugging and comforting, but still light enough to brighten a dark day. This perfume is a master piece of amazing quality. It's very long lasting, projects well, is never cloying and smells very natural to my nose. I get loads of complements and people who know me recognise it immediately as my signature smell. It's unique and worth the money in my opinion. I have many other great fragrances, but since i own love in white i rarely use anything else. Im on my second full size bottle. I love it!

Beauty4Ashes

If I had to choose a signature, I'd choose Love In White. It's elegance and class in a bottle. Subtle yet noticeable. Fresh and modern. Unique yet not divisive. I can see why the First Lady and other prominent women wear Love In White. It truly beautiful. From the fragrance to the bottle, it's a class act. Love this. The one thing about the fragrance that puzzled me at first is the rice note. I've grown to appreciate it as it gives some personality to the scent. I highly recommend. Works for any occasion, any time of year.

redrapturelove

I am so sad this fragrance did not work for me. Michelle Obama is one of my classy role models and I know she wears this scent. The first lady has amazing style and sophistication beautiful Capricorn elegance. The bottle is exquisite and so is the fragrance's concept. On me it is a miss but I am glad to read other positive reviews.

EternityFresh

I have been complimented on Love In White more than any other perfume I have. To me it is what a perfect and serene day smells like in a far away magical place. It's a comforting scent not sexy or alluring but maybe nostalgic of a different era that captures your attention.

Cams

A new love - sophisticated citrus, blended beautifully with floral notes and a stunning dry down! This is one of these scents that either works on you or it doesn't - on me it's flawless. It's seems to stick around as I get compliments when I don't smell it anymore.

I can see there are a lot of members who hate this one - never be put off of trying a fragrance on your own skin because it doesn't work for others; that would be a shame.

Love this!

gwmagic77

Nothing special really

I tested this awhile ago and after awhile it ended up smelling like a bath & body works orange scented lotion I had years ago! Its a shame this is so expensive

Glamdoc

I'm surprised people don't like this but then, to each his/her own. The mildness of this creation is I think deliberate. This scent calls for finely tailored outfits, neat hair styles( think French chignon),plush carpets and discussions in cultured, modulated tones. If I were to re-name this, I'd call it Elegance.

Sunflower77

This smells heavenly in the first ten minutes with all the floral notes blended harmoniously. It reminds me of J'dore EDP. Then a specific note shows up that I don't care for. I don't know what it is but it smells like coriander leaves. This distinct veggie leafy note does not go well with the heavenly floral notes in my opinion.

The projection is moderate. Longevity is also moderate.

StephaniaLC

This perfume was a huge disappointment. I bought the big bottle too. Smells like a barbie when u first buy it. So unnatural ends up being annoying.

darcy2

Tested this again today while at Neiman Marcus. Can't understand what I'm missing here, since First Ladies' love this. On me this is just too linear; failing to develop into anything interesting along the way, although it is pleasant and certainly inoffensive. Wait, maybe that why First Ladies' like it so, quality ingredients and class, but won't offend anyone!

babypoison

pretty bottle, yet it smells like ordinary soap. whts worse, it causes me migraines, i couldnt wait to wash it off. A big thumbs down :(

Zobeide

Why is amber, and not ambergris, given in the notes pyramid here? Ambergris' soapy marine quality is present right from the opening, and is as much a feature as the florals to my nose.

ArtzGirl

In my quest to find a new signature fragrance, I'm trying Creed's Love in White. I'm trying a sample size to see how this one wears with my skin.

The initial spray of this smells meh on my skin. I'm almost at a loss for words here, simply because with my chemistry-- this is not ringing any type of emotional bells or whistles for me.

The longer this wears on my skin, the more alluring it is becoming - but I'm still at a loss for exactly what to say. One minute, I smell this and it smells like a hint of cough syrup, the next... it smells like something with a flair of an amazing alluring pheromone with a base of coffee or tobacco. I'm not going to cheat and look at the ingredient list, but it is coming in with a smell like coffee and/or tobacco with my chemistry.

20 - 30 minutes into this, I'm beginning to smell notes in this that I'm finding that really draws me in. This is sexy and mysterious and I could see where men would find this very alluring. It definitely has a much better dry down than the initial blast the first 20 minutes. 30 minutes into this, the fragrance opens up like an uncorked bottle of wine which is allowed to breathe. I'm definitely liking the way that this is unwinding on my skin.

There is a peppery note in this which lifts the fragrance into a more heavy/active type fragrance. I could see this worn primarily in the evening. It is dark, heavy, and has an air of mystery about it.

About 4-5 hours of wear, and this has dried down as soft as almost a light smell of shower gel or soap that lingers on your skin after a shower. The potency of this is not as strong as I typically wear, but this would be a great fragrance to wear when you are not wanting to have an overly large silage - such as when you are seated in a crowded movie theater, working in a crowded office area, or other situations.

------------

When I hear the term "white" in connection with a fragrance... I immediately assume that the fragrance will be a soprano, high note register - and very sweet... like Madonna's Truth or Dare, Fracas, or Eternity. The term "white" in this title is misleading. The fragrance resonates with something much deeper, darker, than the color white.

Mila Pulina

I like this fragrance but one note prevents me to love it - I guess it is the rice. It has not the wow-factor but it is easy to wear - I can imagine that somewhat romantic girls/ladies use it. From Creed I prefer the Spring Flower - this has more body than Love in White.

nannaje

I do not understand, this does not smell like the notes mentioned here, you should include ZEST in the orange part. It is very similar to Boucheron Trouble to me.

It smells dry and bitter. The only thing I enjoy so far is that it smells quite expensive.

Big thanks to daisymargueritte for the generous decant! <3

mister_chaz

Love in White has traveled from "dislike" to "like" on my list quite unexpectedly. At first, I thought it was nothing special: just a floral with the citrus notes, and the rice note, which I did not find very flattering, initially.

But now I actually find it very comforting and soft. I like how Izumee has described it "motherly" - it fits here. I like the magnolia in it; it also has this green, almost celery-like note, and then the rice... well, I don't know what happened, but now I find it very likeable and cozy. It does not have a massive projection, but it's very noticeable when you approach closer. Good lasting power, too. I'm not lusting for an FB for sure, but wouldn't mind wearing this once in a while.

kazewayz

Flowers, sweetness, woods, perfect for a women. I put this on because I got a free sample, and I said what the heck is a Creed. I applied it about 8 hours ago, and the smell is still there. It lasts and lasts. This a romantic scent, it isn't loud at all. Great for any occasion, any time of the year. Try it.

Izumee

Based on its inspiration from the love of sailing, i have to say that this is a great scent. It does have a marine feels to it, although its far from aquatic or salty. The aura is 'cool/cold', 'reserved', and 'professional' on my skin.. However, on strip paper or clothes, i get something 'motherly', 'enveloping' and 'lovely' aura. Either way i like it. Oh and one more thing, i do feel something sour everytime i spray it (on clothes or skin) for the first couple of minutes which i dont like. But overall this is a very nice fragrance, and my mom seems to agree with that.

Ps: dont overdo it, i agree it can be a little nauseating if u do. Good luck!

Deppaholic

Love in White does not like me, nor do many of the Creed fragrances. I've had samples, bought Eugenie and had to return it. This one smells okay first spray, but dries down to some kind of old stinky sheets hung out in the sun to dry. I just don't know why my chemistry turns them bad and then they disappear after about 30 minutes, which is a good thing, because this one is so sour on me towards the end. I would strongly suggest you try any of these before you buy. I hear Angelina Jolie wears this. Despite wanting to love it, I abhor it! Will try it in the summer and see what happens. I do not get any of the notes listed.

EDIT 5/2013: Well, today is the first time I tried it since first posting. I will say that I still get a little bit of sour in here, but I am not hating it as bad. And, I might add that it lasting quite long on my skin. Odd how different seasons make or break your fragrance. I am not even going to try my beloved New Haarlem on this May day, because in the winter I love it! But Love in White is for sure a spring/summer fragrance (on me)

xabaras

It is a cold day, it's snowing. I put Love in White on this morning and what hit me at first was a nice smell of flowers, not too sweet and quite "dry" for being a floral fragrance. As it developed on my skin I was more and more aware of some kind of spice... it makes me think of freshly cut coriander leaves. A pleasant, fresh, dry note. All of this sits on an acidic background which I can't really define, it is a citrus note, but not quite. Hard to describe. It is not unpleasant nor pleasant, but it is there, and it works well as a contrast with the floral notes. I like Love in White. I have a sample of it, and if it were not so expensive I would get a full bottle of it to add to my collection, although I would use it rarely as it does not have a wow factor to me. I will try this in warmer weather.

This is another of my Creed sampler purchases, and likely to stay that way.

At best this was interesting, but it did not even make the mark of entrancing to me. I'm disappointed that I got none of the citrus notes, which might have helped redeem it. Though really, I am not sure about even that, as the scent mostly disappeared on me in about three hours unless I put my nose directly on the application spot at my wrist where the barest remains of the ambergris and sandalwood are about all that are keeping me from being quite vexed at this one. In my favourite scents, three to four hours is about the point at which they're settling into the best parts of their dry down. It isn't even that I have no patience for more ephemeral scents, it's just that this one isn't lovely enough to make the short duration sufficiently worth savouring.

In fairness, I did test this during one of our more sustained cold snaps this winter. It hasn't been much above -30C for a couple of weeks and frequently much closer to -40C. Will give this a second chance on one of the hotter days in summer to see if it's any better, but I do not expect this to ever be a favourite.

I love the smell. a nice smooth floweral with a touch of citric. But does anyone else notice it doesnt last very long? Is it just me?

My opinion of this fragrance has changed in the intervening months since I first encountered it. While it is certainly a "Creed formula" with scads of high quality synthetics coalescing into rich accords, and it is likely ten times better than your average synthetic "mall rat" fruity floral, I've come to think of its floral accord as a mood killer.

It's weird. With scents like Fleur de The Rose Bulgare, Love in Black, Fleurissimo, and Spring Flower, I expect a Creed floral to contain at least a competently pleasant and inoffensive floral accord. The use of citrus, rice, woods, and musk in LiW is good in many ways. Yet the perfume's floral accord, a smooth white floral arrangement crafted with obvious care and consideration, goes from abstractly sweet and delicate to plasticky and just plain stinky for a good two hours in the heart phase of the drydown. This situation comes and goes, with the musks and woodier notes eventually retaining LiW's affability, but I can't help but concede that this subtle floral belch, with its protracted unpleasant (indolic?) funk is not so good. I don't know. Maybe it's skin chemistry or just the soap that I use interacting with the perfume in an adverse way, but unfortunately LiW's florals are consistently unpleasant for a significant portion of their lifespan after application.

Creed's worst fragrance is, as I've hinted a few lines earlier, still a dozen times better than the competition. In an end-of-world scenario, with only this and a few other cheapies on hand before facing the Great By and By, I'd wear this without a second thought. But with other choices in this range, and in this world, I'd venture to say that the only other Creeds I might want to wear less are Himalaya and Windsor (shuddering at just the thought of Windsor). Sorry guys. My 180 on LiW bears no reflection on anything other than a simple misunderstanding of why a few green notes were arranged the way they were.

Edit 2017: Part of the problem is the rice note. Creed renders rice in a way that is very dry and mealy (reminds me of Polenta). This doesn't meld with floral notes very well, hence another issue with the overall fragrance.

Now I'm gonna be lynched, but the initial blast reminds me of the ultra cheap Ex`cla-ma`tion by Coty. But I like that scent, so there's nothing wrong with it when I say so. I love Love In White!
